Hi everyone,

I've had CHS for around 4 years. It did go away during my pregnancy but it came back later on.

I've noticed a couple of things that improve this condition for me so I thought I'd share, in case more people can benefit.

So you probably noticed that stimulants will increase the symptoms, so I don't take or take minimal caffeine, sugary foods/drinks, white bread/rice/potatoes. Pain also triggers it but can't really avoid it easily.

I've noticed that eating an apple on an empty stomach will immediately increases my symptoms. However, if same apple is eaten at end of a salad, the symptoms are less strong. As such, I believe that foods that release sugar faster increase symptoms and am now studying in which progression to eat my foods.

Steady exercise will first seem to increase symptoms but, if you keep going, they reduce a lot and you reap the benefits for a day.
Think of walking 5km a day in one go. Yoga. Hatha yoga also helped a lot.

When symptoms are very high and distressing, breathing through a kitchen roll that I adapt to nose breathing only also helps. Control all exhalations to be let out slowly during peak symptoms but also when symptoms are softer. So pursed lips exhalation after you experience a big forced inhale.
